A jolly jaunt around the countryside....

Over the past few weeks we have been working on marketing materials for a campaign promoting bus travel around South Downs National Park. The design materials are all illustration based highlighting the attractions, towns, villages and even pubs along four specific routes across the Park.

Of course, we couldn't undertake such a project without some research so off we went on a jolly jaunt around the Sussex countryside with the chaps from Cuckmere Buses.  The sun was shining, the English landscape was glorious and travelling around by bus was a joy especially with the knowledge of Richard and Philip who were full of facts and stories about the area.

The materials will be released at the end of July so watch this space for more information.

Chewing the Fat at Chewton Glen!

Wednesday evening saw a gathering of artisan producers, growers and suppliers of Hampshire produce at the wonderful Chewton Glen, for the monthly Hampshire Fare networking event.

With champagne supplied by Hambledon Vineyards, coffee from Mozzo Coffee and a cornucopia of never ending canapés, this was a bubbly event with much exchanging of business and ideas. The passion that these producers have for their work is certainly infectious!

Kim Murphy, of Choccomondo in Southampton, was the lucky recipient of a half keg of Punter Ale from Upham Brewery, presented to her by Faye Pain (left). Enjoy Kim!

Starfish is proud to be a Corporate Partner of Hampshire Fare working with them on their marketing materials and sharing that passion for what we do!

Promoting tourism in print for 2015

The demand for the tangible brochure is still high within the tourism industry. Whilst online resources, including sites such as Trip Advisor, offer an invaluable service, the idea of a high quality piece of print is still appealing to many. For 2015, Starfish has worked with Visit Surrey, Guildford Borough Council, Visit Worthing and Visit Wiltshire to design and print appealing brochures illustrating the best that these areas have to offer the visitor.

We have certainly seen a shift in the focus and content in the twelve years Starfish has been producing Visitor Guides, with the emphasis more on a pictorial and engaging overview of what to see and do through the year. Just like any other marketing brochure, their function is to promote and showcase a unique offering, in this case a wealth of tourist attractions, events and festivals and, of course, to attract new visitors from both within the UK and abroad.

You can take a peek at the 2015 guides produced by Starfish here.
