Launch of Hampshire's Food Festival

A sunny afternoon in Hillplace, Swanmore saw the launch of this year's Hampshire Food Festival.

It was great to see all of our foodie illustrations around the site on pop-up banners, posters and, of course, the programme of events. It was also great to meet a lot of the producers who are participating in the Festival and sample their wares!

Taking place throughout the month of July, the Festival comprises over 60 events hosted and run by Hampshire's finest producers, growers and chefs. On offer this year are: farm visits; vineyard tours; cookery masterclasses; pop-up dinners; tasting events; distillery and brewery tours; artisan markets and more.

Free copies of the Hampshire Food Festival 2018 programme are available to pick up from local retailers, libraries, pubs, restaurants, hotels and Southern Co-op stores.

15th Hampshire Food Festival Launch, 2015

This year the launch of the Hampshire Food Festival took place in the picturesque grounds of The Pig Hotel in Brockenhurst.

The sun was shining, the Hattingley Valley bubbly was cold, and the local suppliers were out in force showing off the amazing range of produce currently coming out of Hampshire. From  cheese to marshmallows and coffee to gin, the range of artisanal businesses was inspiring.

Whilst being entertained with music from the Spitfire Sisters, and a cookery demo by the boys from The Pig Hotel (doing great things with a local trout!) we munched, crunched and slurped our way around the garden and left with a very well stocked goody bag.

The Food Festival itself runs throughout July into the first weekend of August and you can view the full programme of events here.

Chewing the Fat at Chewton Glen!

Wednesday evening saw a gathering of artisan producers, growers and suppliers of Hampshire produce at the wonderful Chewton Glen, for the monthly Hampshire Fare networking event.

With champagne supplied by Hambledon Vineyards, coffee from Mozzo Coffee and a cornucopia of never ending canapés, this was a bubbly event with much exchanging of business and ideas. The passion that these producers have for their work is certainly infectious!

Kim Murphy, of Choccomondo in Southampton, was the lucky recipient of a half keg of Punter Ale from Upham Brewery, presented to her by Faye Pain (left). Enjoy Kim!

Starfish is proud to be a Corporate Partner of Hampshire Fare working with them on their marketing materials and sharing that passion for what we do!
