Stop the Bugs!
Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust commissioned Starfish to research, create and execute a pubic awareness campaign that highlighted the issue of hospital infection and seek to educate the hospital’s catchment area in the part the public could play in preventing infection.
The “Stop The Bugs” campaign was unveiled in May 2008 and as a testament to its success the campaign is still visible in Queen Alexandra Hospital. Incorporating bus shelters, bus backs, billboards and extensive coverage in the local press, the campaign made considerable impact in the local community. Internally, the Trust installed posters, leaflets and gel dispensers throughout its hospital sites.
The campaign won a Gold Award at the CIPR PRide Awards which recognises excellence in public relations and communications.
